What is the Downtown Oakville B. I. A.?

The Downtown Oakville Business Improvement Area (B. I. A.) is a non-profit organization which represents all of the 400+ businesses located within its boundaries. It is governed by an elected volunteer Board of Management and staffed by four full-time support personnel. Several volunteer committees work on behalf of the Board and our members.

The Downtown Oakville B. I. A. is located along Lakeshore Road East between Allan Street and Navy Street, extending one block North of Lakeshore Road to include the South side of Church Street and one block South of Lakeshore Road to include the North side of Robinson Street and includes all of the side streets inside this boundary. The BIA organizes and funds beautification initiatives throughout the downtown area including:

cascading floral displays in tubs and hanging baskets
white lights in the trees that line the streets
beautiful lighted wreaths on the lamp posts at Christmas
a huge tree adorned with white lights during the Christmas season
benches during the Summer
