Associate Membership

Associate Memberships for the year are being offered  to select businesses for a fee of $295.00. Listed below are the benefits to businesses wishing to join the Downtown Oakville BIA as an Associate Member:

Listing in the BIA Business Directory and on the BIA Website as an Associate Member

Each year the BIA puts together a business directory which includes a listing of all of the businesses, parking information and an outline of events. These directories are distributed to all downtown businesses, surrounding area hotels, the Town of Oakville, Information Oakville, the Oakville Chamber of Commerce and other high traffic locales. A listing on our website enables your business to be listed with over 400 downtown BIA businesses.

Downtown Oakville Newsletter

As an Associate Member you will receive our monthly newsletter which will keep you informed of issues that relate to downtown.

Work Downtown / Shop Downtown Discount Cards

All of our members and their employees are eligible to participate in this incentive program. With the WD/SD card you'll receive special downtown discounts at participating businesses. You may also choose to participate by offering a discount or incentive. We all benefit when we keep business downtown!

Advertise in BIA Publications *

As an Associate Member you may advertise in the annual Downtown Oakville BIA Business Directory and the downtown magazine Our Town...Downtown. The business directory is produced with distribution of 20,000 and the magazine is published four times per year with 30,000 circulation for each issue. *This option does not extend to co-op advertising in other publications.

Parking Token Program

An inexpensive customer appreciation program with which you can offer your clients $1.00 of free parking at all electronic parking meters, Municipal parking lots and the Municipal Parking Garage within the Downtown Oakville BIA area. All participating businesses will be provided with a hang tag to identify them as a participant in this promotion.

Use of Board Room Facilities

The BIA office has a board room available to its members FREE of charge! As an Associate Member you can use the facilities for your own meetings. To reserve the BIA board room contact the BIA at 905-844-4520 or

Business Watch

The BIA, along with the assistance of the Halton Regional Police, has put together a Business Watch program. A network of volunteer block captains alert their neighbours to immediate crime. As an Associate Member you can choose to be included in this program.

Access to Statistical Information

The BIA conducts monthly pedestrian traffic and postal code tracking surveys. Detailed information which you can obtain through the BIA for marketing information purposes.

Voice in Local Affairs

Lobbying to support the best interests of independent businesses in downtown is an important issue for the BIA. As an Associate Member you can benefit from a stronger voice when it comes to local affairs.

Networking Opportunities

You'll be invited to our socials! These events are a lot of fun and provide the opportunity to meet new people and exchange helpful business hints or simply relax and catch up on what's going on in downtown.
