We’ve had so much fun celebrating fall this past month, with our Flavours of Fall kick-off event, Fall Guide and festive menu items from participating restaurants and cafes. There’s still time to savour the flavours of the season. If you love cinammon and apples, maple and bacon, and warm comfort food as much as we do, you’ll want to check out these five Downtown Oakville restaurants ASAP:
The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro Celebrate Fall in true Canadian style with The Tragically Maple Burger (pictured above). Topped with maple bacon, house-made maple bacon jam, bacon sticks and Canadian cheese curds, being patriotic has never tasted so good.
Just a Good Olde Fashioned Butchery Lining up for one of this butchery’s famous barbecued sausages is a summer tradition in Downtown Oakville, but on those chilly fall days, you’ll want to warm up with a steaming bowl of their chilli or bouillabaisse fish stew.
The Crepe Kitchen This family-run restaurant makes the best crepes in town and if you love fall flavours, you’ll fall in love with their Pierre Crepe, which combines cinnamon and apple with melted cheddar cheese.
Colossus Looking for something a little exotic to spice up your fall flavour palate? Try Colossus’ Youvetsi Arnaki – slowly braised lamb shank in tomato sauce and seasonal vegetables on a bed of orzo pasta with red onions and Kalamata olives, topped with kefalotiri cheese.
151 Social In addition to their featured fall menu items – squash risotto and the apple and fennel cocktail (pictured below along with the roasted mushroom soup with baked ricotta and truffle oil from sister restaurant Buca Di Bacco) – 151 Social is celebrating Oktoberfest this month. Enjoy a classic German entrée and a stein of Krombacher for $40 from now until October 31.
Experience even more fall flavours throughout Downtown Oakville – check out our Fall Guide for a list of fall menu features available now until the end of October.
