How and why did your decide to pursue your business?
Before I started RenewSelf Medspa, I worked as an accountant for over 15 years. As much as I loved my job, I felt that I had another calling. I was also beginning to feel burned out, so I took some time off to deeply reconnect with myself and think about what I really love to do outside the walls of my office. My appreciation for beauty drew me towards aesthetics, and I underwent a personal transformation that left me feeling renewed in every sense of the word - physically, mentally, and emotionally. With this fully renewed approach towards life, I made the leap to switch paths and pursue what I am truly passionate about - helping others renew their inner and outer beauty and confidence. My journey to share my passion with others began when I enrolled in the advance Medical Laser Technician program in Toronto, where I received my qualifications to be a Medical Laser Technician. I then pursued further courses in both Canada and the USA to hone my skills and learn more advanced aesthetician techniques.
What are you most passionate about in your business?
I love connecting with others. My clients are like part of my family. Oftentimes, what people see in the mirror is not an accurate reflection of what they truly look like. It's a great thing when you can be part of the solution and help people feel good about themselves and (literally!) feel more comfortable in your skin. More than anything, I love what I do! Nothing gives more joy than helping people discover a newer, more confident version of themselves - just like I had.
What do LOVE about Downtown Oakville?
I looked at other places to start my business, but EVERYTHING drove me to Downtown Oakville. It immediately felt like home, I knew right away. Just strolling down the main street I saw a beautiful neighbourhood where people walked their dogs, strolled leisurely with their children, spent time with family or visited the shops with a friend. It gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling. It was love at first sight, really!
Tell us something about yourself that might surprise others.
I can't start my day without a latte! I am happily addicted to daily meditation classes, green smoothies and my skin care routine.
